NG Welfare Potchefstroom (074-510 NPO)

Where do we work and what services do we offer?

We are situated on the national road (N12) between Johannesburg and Klerksdorp. Beacons alongside the road are: Aardklop, Mooiriver Mall, North-West University, The Bult and NG Welfare, and willow trees along the river. Our working areas are: Potchefstroom, Ventersdorp and allocated areas in Ikageng
Our core business is the protection of families and vulnerable children who are in need of care. These children are placed in foster care or Child and Youth Care Centers. Drug abuse is increasing at an astonishing rate in the community of Potchefstroom, especially among the students and school children which add to our workload.
We do mediation services, and are contracted to assist with Employment Assistance Programmes (EAP’s) as part of our paid services.
Other service organisations: SAVF, RATA Social Services, Child Welfare, Mental health, FAMSA.
The office’s exhibition project is their annual Secretary day, but smaller fundraising projects are hosted through-out the year. The final-year social work students at the North-West University also do their annual internships at NG Welfare Potchefstroom where they are involved in all daily procedures in order for them to obtain the necessary preparation for their future.
