Where do we work and what services do we offer?
The keystone of the Home was laid on 17 September 1980. The Home is situated on the outskirts of the town and was initially controlled by the local NG Congregation prior to the management thereof being taken over by NG Welfare North West.
The Home comprises of single/double rooms with bathrooms (for persons that can still take care of themselves) as well as single/double rooms and four-bed wards which can also accommodate residents that need help and for frail senior citizens. We also have a Highcare Ward for those elderly that can no longer take care of themselves. The Home can accommodate 92 residents.
The Home has 8 single rooms, each with its own bathroom (shower, washbasin and toilet) – these rooms are high in demand. The Home also has 4 newly built; modern; self-catering flats in a safe environment. The next development is already being planned.
Lodging fees for the current year until February 2023 amount from R5 940 pp pm to R9 558.00 pp pm and include the following: accommodation, all meals, laundry care, house-cleaning services, a safe environment as well as a 24-hour medical support service.
The ministers of the local NG Church, NH Church, Reformed Church as well as the Apostolic Faith Mission all serve on the Home’s Advisory Board, whilst ministers from all the denominations take part in the Home by leading evening devotions. The local sister churches, and especially the Women’s Associations are very involved in occasions presented for the senior citizens, amongst others, companionable socializing with tasty eats and drinks. The AWS ladies and the ATKV also arrange occasions from time to time.
Fundraising is also high on the Home’s priority list and every Friday a very willing staff team and volunteers each bake pancakes and make jaffels, sosaties, boerewors rolls and hamburgers which they deliver locally.
